The melody for this is based on a theme I composed for a short film I made in college. It has always been one of my favorite melodies, and I wanted to do something more with it. As I was working with lyrical themes for the album, and considering the idea of gravity, the lyrics just started coming in waves already set to the music I'd written.

At times during the production, I was concerned that this would feel depressing, and that is certainly possible, depending on the mood of the listener. For me, however, it conveys my feelings of frustration. I often feel trapped in my body, in this world, like I'm being held down by natural forces and if they would just let me go I could reach my full potential.
