This instrumental track is an update of a piece of a soundtrack I wrote for a short film in college. It serves as the second interlude separating the second and third movements of the album. I incorporated themes from "Through the Gate" as I had noticed a similarity in chord structure between these pieces even though it wasn't intentional when I wrote either of them. I later decided to add a tag to the end of "Through the Gate" that calls back to this piece, so they would become reflections of each other. Like the other 'ludes on the album, this one is named after a phase of the life cycle of a star, and ultimately indicates a cyclical nature to the album as a whole.
